What impact has implementing EOS had on your business and you as a leader?
Implementing EOS has been great for our business. We have a method to dig in and solve most of our issues in a small block of time, which occurs each week. This both solves problems quickly, and keeps us accountable to each other, and to the business.
What have you learned by implementing EOS as your business system?
For one, I became frustrated with the staff’s lack of attention to important details. It was not a lack of conviction, it was the lack of a set structure to measure and solve problems. EOS provides a method and structure to account for these details.
What surprised you during the process?
I was surprised at how bad our meetings were. We went over KPIs and discussed problems, but never dug into the issues to resolve them.
What problems have you solved by implementing EOS?
- There are too many to list, but here’s a few that stand out:
- Issues between departments are resolved now. The departmental L-10s result in issues being carried up to the executive L-10, and vice versa.
- Billing issues — We have overlooked tens of thousands of dollars due to many issues, all circling around the lack of communication between three departments. We haven’t felt the effects of this yet, but we will in 60-90 days.
- For me personally, my largest moment of clarity was around trying to make certain people, or certain customers fit. It has taken us some time, but we are close to the summit here. We have more progress to make, but I can see a day where our company doesn’t take on initiatives that don’t fit our V/TO (Vision/Traction Organizer).
