What impact has implementing EOS had on your business and you as a leader?
Since the company has implemented the EOS system, our world at J.W. Toups, Inc. has become a lot brighter. Employees have a clear picture of their roles, their goals and how they’re empowered to make decisions and take action. Our team members know what is important to the company and what is expected of them to achieve our priorities, which has given me the time to focus on what I’m good at. As the visionary, I have time to create ideas to steer our company towards the future and close the large sales that will enable us to get there. EOS has freed me up from handling the minutiae of the day-to-day office activities.
What have you learned by implementing EOS as your business system?
I don’t have to have my hands in everything in the company. We create the systems and structure that are needed to succeed, assign the roles and goals for each position within the company, then put the right person in each seat. The result is everyone knows their goals and is empowered to make the decisions to accomplish them.
What surprised you during the process?
I was surprised that letting go, while scary at first, proved to be the most profound team building action I could take. People want to do a good job and when they can own a decision and the action behind it, they’ll put all of their thoughts and efforts behind it.
What problems have you solved by implementing EOS?
We have solved several system issues as well as issues centered around having the wrong employees in the wrong positions.
